Prerequisite: One of CHEM 11, CHEM 12, CHEM 100, CHEM 110, CHEM 111 and one of BIOL 11, ATPH 12, BIOL 12, BIOL 111. FNH 160 and 161 together are credit-excluded with BIOL 153 and 155.

Examines the complementary and intersecting roles of libraries, archives, and museums in collections acquisition, development, curation, preservation, and access traditions pertaining to First Nations languages, to explore how each can contribute to endangered language and cultural heritage sustainability. This hybrid course aims to enhance the awareness of diverse knowledge systems (including western scientific, local, Indigenous) and their implications for decision-making and policy among students in the Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship’s four course-based master’s programs (MGEM, MSFM, MUFL, and MIF). It addresses power dynamics between these knowledge systems and introduces strategies for equitable co-production of environmental management decisions.
