Dr. Connolly (Assistant Professor at UBC SCARP) is working with Dr. Melissa McHale (Forest Resources Management, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Stewardship) on The Greener Cities Certificate.
The Greener Cities Certificate - A New Undergraduate Certificate in Urban Sustainability will help undergraduate students from various majors such as engineering, planning, architecture, forestry, and geography, to work across disciplines and prepare for careers in fields like urban planning, urban hydrology, city forestry, and transportation engineering.
The certificate looks to combine the strengths of Urban Studies and Forestry and specialize in planning for urban green and climate infrastructure, biodiversity, and urban ecology.
Watch Dr. Connolly discuss the importance of breadth and depth, and how this new certificate at UBC will work across faculties to bring breadth to students’ focused studies.
