HOW TO APPLY
Here's what you need to do in order to apply for a UBC Sustainability Scholars paid internship position.
1. Review the list of opportunities below and select up to three positions
2. Download and read the fall 2019 application guidelines
3. Confirm your eligibility
4. Prepare your application files
5. Submit your application(s)
Please review the list below to confirm your eligibility:
Enrollment: Must be registered as full-time in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Academic standing: Be in good academic standing, and not on academic probation.
Graduation: A student is no longer considered a student after his/her convocation date. Students who graduate prior to the commencement of the internship period are not eligible.
Awards/funding: Before applying, please confirm your eligibility to work the required hours by checking the guidelines of any graduate student funding you hold.
Social insurance number: All students, including international students, must have a SIN before they can be paid by UBC. Successful candidates are responsible for ensuring they have a valid SIN prior to the commencement of the internship period.
International students: In addition to the above, international students must hold a valid student visa in order to work at UBC. Successful candidates are responsible for ensuring they have a valid student visa for the duration of the internship.

The UBC Sustainability Scholars Program welcomes full-time UBC graduate students from all academic disciplines. In addition to the skills and experience you bring, successful candidates typically demonstrate the following characteristics:
- Professional, ethical, cooperative
- Clear and effective written and spoken communication
- Critical thinking and judgement
- Work well independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Creative problem solving, willing to consider new ideas and approaches
- Enthusiastic and curious
- Passionate about sustainability
