Resumes, Cover Letters & Best Practices: Refining Your Scholars Application

This workshop has been developed to  support prospective Sustainability Scholars craft a strong application to the program.

Rebecca Dirnfeld, a career educator at UBC who specializes in supporting Masters and PhD students, will provide strategies and advice for developing a strong resume and cover letter. Karen Taylor, Manager of the Sustainability Scholars Program, will provide her perspective on the application and selection process, as well as common dos and don’ts.

Students who plan to apply to the Sustainability Scholars Program are encouraged to attend.

Conference "Research to Action: advancing Urban sustainability"

Two afternoons of engaged discussions on a diverse range of applied sustainability projects produced by UBC graduate students in collaboration with partner organizations including Metro Vancouver, City of Surrey, TransLink, local health authorities, local governments, and many others. Following the opening remarks and keynote presentations by Sherry Yano (on September 23) and [speaker tbc] (on September 24), this year's Sustainability Scholars cohort will present their projects in concurrent themed panel sessions throughout the afternoon. There will be different students presenting each day. Panels will be moderated by experts from UBC and Sustainability Scholars Program partners.
