This course is part of the UBC Future Global Leaders Pre-University Program for high school students ages 15-18, and is offered at UBC Vancouver. This program offers the option to stay in a UBC student residence during the program or commute daily.

Explore key themes of the global economy, including the role of multinational corporations, global trade, international finance and international development. Analyze the underlying issues and competing ideologies that shape the global political economy, and understand tensions that arise due to government efforts to enhance or resist market pressures.

This course is ideal if you’re interested in political science, economics, public policy, current events, business or management.

ROBERT FARKASCH, PhD, is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia. He teaches courses in international political economy, international relations and understanding terrorism.
