Come out and discover urban foraging and the art of medicine making through an interactive workshop identifying wild, edible and medicinal plants growing beneath your feet. We will touch on how to incorporate wild foods into your lifestyle, when best to harvest and how to receive the most of these plants. This earth wisdom is taught by First Nations Metis Herbalist Lori Snyder.

This beginner level workshop will cover the following topics:

Urban foraging and medicinal plants basics
Incorporating wild foods into your lifestyle
Harvest seasons and availability of wild edibles
Participants will experience a guided walk with the instructor around the farm and forest
Participants will receive an illustrated ‘mind-map’, a reference guide and learning tool to help integrate these teaching

About the Instructor

Lori Snyder’s lineage blends from the Tsuu T’ina. Ojibway, Nipissing, Cree and Assiniboine Nations. For the past 25 years, Lori has been studying and researching plant medicines and wild edibles. She completed an intensive 2 year Practical Herbalist Program in 2006. Combining both a First Nations perspective and European herbal traditions, Lori’s vision is to create native, edible & medicinal food forests throughout our urban landscape.
