Social Enterprise Club's first event of the year! It's an introduction to social enterprise, featuring inspiring speakers who each have their own insider's perspective to share with you.

MARK BRAND

Mark Brand, a Vancouver icon/celebrity and social entrepreneur. You may have eaten his food or worn his shirts. You might know him as the owner of Save On Meats... or 5 other businesses. He'll share his story of renewing the Downtown Eastside and changing the lives of many of its residents.

JEFF KROEKER

Jeff Kroeker is a legendary UBC professor who takes a team of students to Ethiopia each summer to work with local entrepreneurs to develop their businesses. It's truly a once-in-a-life time opportunity that does so much to improve the communities of these entrepreneurs.

ISIS

ISIS is a research centre here at UBC doing exciting work on social enterprise and green economies. In social enterprise, ISIS focuses on breeding innovative ideas, exploring socially-beneficial economic opportunities, developing social entrepreneurs, and making sure social enterprise receives the publicity it deserves.

Admission is free for members or $2 for non-members.
