Thu, September 15, 2016 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM UBC FARM. $50 ($42 for registered students -- valid student ID is required) + GST. This workshop is intended for all canning enthusiasts who want to learn the most current methods for safe, enjoyable home canning. The workshop includes a complete demonstration of the boiling-water-bath method of canning, as well as a discussion of pressure canning. Participants will be able sample at least three products which will be made during the workshop and they will each receive one jar of product. Ample time will be allowed for all questions.

About the Instructor: Darlene is an avid canner who grew up watching her mother can fruit and vegetables from their garden. Darlene grew up in Richmond and graduated from UBC with a Home Economics Degree. Darlene has worked for Bernardin Ltd. for over 10 years teaching canning workshops. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors.
