Thursday, May 22, 2025 - 00:00 to 23:59

UBC Botanical Garden celebrates Biodiversity Days on its 5th year and this year is especially inspiring with the launch of our first-ever Climate Conversations, where local experts will guide us in learning, envisioning, and imagining a climate-changed future. Designed to engage and empower a diverse community of climate-concerned citizens and leaders, this event fosters dialogue, action, and new possibilities.

The day features a keynote presentation by Lisa Brideau, author of the climate fiction thriller Adrift, set on the west coast of a climate-changed BC in 2035. Lisa is also a planner and senior sustainability specialist with the City of Vancouver, and will speak on the power of imagination in shaping resilient futures. It will be a packed day for all participants, featuring insightful sessions from our speakers, a catered lunch, a guided tour of UBC Botanical Garden, and a collaborative, action-oriented closing session. The day’s proceedings will also be visually documented by a local artist.
