On Wednesday, September 18, UBC Vancouver is suspending all undergraduate classes to allow students to participate in the national Truth and Reconciliation Commission event.
This suspension affects all undergraduate classes, with a few exceptions. Students will be informed by their faculty if the suspension does not apply to them.
Graduate students should liaise with their program for information on how the suspension applies to them.
This event raises awareness about the effects of the Indian Residential School System which operated in Canada from 1875–1996. More information about the effects of this system can be found at: http://www.ubc.ca/ourtruth
