Study sociology by understanding our everyday decisions of what to wear, why we wear what we do, and why our clothes matter. Discover the rules that shape how we dress, the role of influencers and followers, and how what we wear is tied to our identities and inequalities.

Your instructor
CARRIE YODANIS, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. She has taught about the sociology of consumers and consumption in Canada, China and Japan, and is author of the book Getting Dressed: Conformity and Imitation in Clothing and Everyday Life.
