As campus life slowly resumed this year, UBC made major advances on sustainability. Highlights included endorsement by the UBC Board of Governors of ambitious new climate action plans for both campuses, progress on embedding climate justice through our Climate Emergency Response efforts, and the launch of Campus Vision 2050 – a comprehensive land use planning and engagement process that will shape how the Vancouver campus changes and grows over the next 30 years.
UBC continues to advance climate action and sustainability through teaching and learning, research, operations, and community. The breadth, depth, and innovation of this work is remarkable. We hope this report – featuring more new sustainability-related research projects than any past report – inspires event greater action and commitment in the year ahead.
