Sustainable practice within the arboricultural discipline with emphasis on a comprehensive understanding of techniques and equipment used in a range of arboricultural operations.

Roles played by urban forestry and greenspace systems in a rapidly changing world; topics include urban ecology, urban forest conservation, urban forest management, climate change, society and human well-being, design and planning, urban/rural interface issues, and urban forest policy.

Course with a four to eight week on-site field placement. Proposal development, implementation and high-level written report of a surgical care field practicum in an underserved location globally, producing practical on-the-ground skills. Prerequisite: All of SURG_V 510, SURG 512_V, SURG_V 514, SURG_V 516. Corequisite: SURG_V 517.
