SPHA 562 (MHA Year Two) will provide students with an introduction to health care law by offering an overview of federal and provincial acts and regulations. Current legal issues pertinent to healthcare administrators, researchers, and policy makers will be used to develop critical reasoning and analytical skills. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

Economic strengths and weaknesses of current arrangements, and the prospects and objectives of various proposals for reform. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

SPHA 511 Government and Policy (Year Two) focuses on health care policy and analyzes ways which the government and health authorities can implement behavioural change in the most effective way. Using local and international case studies, students will learn practical tools and approaches to take back to their workplace to improve outcomes and health system performance. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

This is a graduate course designed to help students to locate themselves within the constructs of social justice with a view to developing a comprehensive practice framework consistent with Social Work theories, values and ethics. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.
