Sun, March 18, 2018 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM BROCK HALL - WEST WING. $10 for members. Bike Basics is the Bike Kitchen's most beginner level workshop. In this 3-hour class you'll get hands on experience giving your own bike some care, learning how to use bike-specific tools, and getting more comfortable using the Bike Kitchen's tool share.

Non-members: $15

*Memberships cost $15 for students and $20 for faculty, staff and general community members. You can purchase a membership while registering for the course.

Air - How much to put into your tires, how to check tires for wear.

Brakes - How to make small adjustments to rim brakes, check for brake pad wear, clean braking surfaces.

Chain - How to check your chain and drivechain for wear, how to oil your chain.

How to recognize loose bearing systems, wheels that are out of true, and rusty cables and housing.

Bring your own bike if possible, because each bike is different, so it's most useful to get to know just how yours works. Let's get our bikes up and ready to roll for spring!

This event takes place on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Musqueam people.

The Bike Kitchen is located at 1896 East Mall (The ATCO trailer outside of Brock Hall).

There is a gravel path leading from East Mall to the ramp at the entrance of the Bike Kitchen. The ramp leading into the shop is 52 inches wide and the door is 33 inches wide. The door swings outwards. The Bike Kitchen is not a scent reduced space.
