On September 1st, 2010 the UBC Sustainability Initiative (USI) launched the Teaching & Learning Fellowship Program. Six outstanding UBC faculty members who are leaders in sustainability education are on a year-long mission to share their ideas and make concrete contributions to advancing sustainability teaching and learning at UBC.
The 2010 Fellows will guide the advancement of sustainability education at UBC, both within individual disciplines and across the university as a whole, using UBC’s Sustainability Academic Strategy as a road map.
The inaugural cohort is an impressive bunch. They span five faculties and six schools and represent a wealth of experience and expertise in sustainability education.
The 2010 USI Teaching & Learning Fellows are:

- Erica Frank, Medicine
- Ron Kellett, Applied Science (SALA)
- Susan Nesbit, Applied Science
- Andrew Riseman, Land and Food Systems
- Rob VanWynsberghe, Education
The Fellowship Program is one of the flagship initiatives of the new USI Teaching & Learning Office that has a mandate is to coordinate, support and enhance undergraduate and graduate sustainability education at UBC’s Vancouver campus.
