Recently, an expedition team, consisting of 21 researchers from Canada, the United States, Russia, Japan, and Korea – all Pacific salmon producing countries – set out on the Russian Vessel, the Professor Kaganovskiy, for a five-week long voyage in the Gulf of Alaska – the first winter-at-sea international research collaboration, surveying of abundance and condition of salmon.
