Managed relocation has become a much-discussed – and controversial – strategy to help species survive changes in their local habitat by moving them to new areas. That could involve moving animals threatened by human encroachment to new ranges, or moving fish trapped in dying lakes to new waters.

An illumination system designed by UBC physicists that saves energy by directing daylight into the core of office buildings has received $2 million in funding from the Government of British Columbia's Innovative Clean Energy Fund.

When clinical professor Jan Christilaw first arrived in Uganda, she found a country “so vibrant and full of life it’s like a heartbeat.
